Router Recovery Support

Help for the Router Recovery macOS app, including setup, troubleshooting, purchase restore, privacy, and support contact details.

Quick Start

  1. 1 Select a recovery firmware file that matches your router model.
  2. 2 Set your Mac static IP address as required by your router recovery guide.
  3. 3 Connect your Mac directly to the router LAN port using Ethernet when possible.
  4. 4 Put the router into recovery mode using the instructions for your model.
  5. 5 Wait for Router Recovery to detect the router's TFTP firmware request.
  6. 6 Confirm the transfer and wait for the completion status.

Network Setup

Many router recovery guides require your Mac to use a specific static IP address, such as 192.168.1.254. Please follow the instructions for your router model.

We recommend turning off Wi-Fi and connecting directly to the router's LAN port using Ethernet. Recovery-mode TFTP requests can be brief, so the simplest network path is usually the most reliable.

Router Recovery Mode

Different router brands have different methods for entering recovery mode, usually by holding the Reset or WPS button while powering on.

Please refer to the official recovery instructions for your router model, or check our tutorial page.

Purchase & Restore Purchases

The app is free to download. The full recovery flow is unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase. Pricing and taxes are shown by the Mac App Store for your region.

If you have already purchased, use Restore Purchases in the app. Purchases are handled by Apple and tied to your Apple ID.

System Requirements

  • macOS 13 or later
  • Ethernet connection recommended
  • Correct recovery firmware for your router model

Troubleshooting

The app does not detect my router request.
Make sure your Mac and router are connected by Ethernet, your Mac IP address is correctly configured, and the router is actually in recovery mode.
Can I use Wi-Fi?
Ethernet is recommended. Router recovery is usually more reliable over a wired connection.
Does Router Recovery provide firmware files?
No. You need to download the correct firmware file from your router vendor, OpenWrt, ImmortalWrt, or another trusted source.
Does the app upload my firmware file?
No. The selected firmware file is used locally on your Mac for the recovery process only.
How do I restore my purchase?
Please use the "Restore Purchases" feature within the app. If you still have trouble, contact support via email.
