Privacy Policy
Recovery activity and firmware files stay on your Mac. We process information only when you choose to contact support.
Overview
Router Recovery respects your privacy. This policy explains how the macOS application, customer support, and the router-recovery.com website handle data.
1. App and Local Recovery
Router Recovery's TFTP service, network checks, recovery confirmation, and evidence export run locally on your Mac. The app does not automatically upload firmware files, recovery records, router network traffic, or evidence files, and it does not use third-party advertising or behavioral tracking SDKs.
Your selected firmware file is never sent to Router Recovery servers. It is used only in the local recovery workflow when requested by the router over TFTP.
2. Data Processed When You Contact Support
Router Recovery 2.1.6 and later only creates an email draft for you to review. The app does not send the draft to us unless you choose to send it. If you send a support email, we receive your email address and message, plus diagnostics included in the draft such as the app version, build number, macOS version, error, or recovery result. You may also voluntarily add router model, firmware source, recovery IP, Mac network settings, or other troubleshooting details.
This information is linked to your email address and used only to provide app functionality, customer support, and troubleshooting. It is not used for advertising, marketing, cross-app tracking, or sale to third parties. Review the message and attachments before sending, and do not include passwords, credentials, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
3. Legacy In-App Feedback
Some releases of Router Recovery 2.1.5 and earlier included an in-app feedback form. Only when a user actively submits the form does it send the feedback message, optional email address, rating, app version, and macOS version. The endpoint does not receive firmware files or accept transfer-success records.
4. Retention, Deletion, and Security
Legacy in-app feedback is stored in a dedicated directory protected by server access controls and cannot be read through the website. The endpoint cleans up records after 90 days and does not store source IP addresses. To limit abuse, it keeps a site-wide hourly count without IP addresses or feedback content; counts older than about two hours are cleared during later requests. Support email and feedback records are retained only as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary support records, or meet legal obligations.
You can ask to access or delete support information you sent by emailing support@router-recovery.com. We may need to confirm the sender address and approximate submission date to locate the record.
5. Website Data
router-recovery.com does not require an account. Website hosting may process basic access logs such as IP address, request time, page path, browser information, and security events. The website may also use aggregate analytics to understand page visits and App Store referrals. This data is used for website security, performance, and content improvement. It is not combined with in-app recovery activity or used for cross-site advertising tracking.
6. Apple and Purchases
App purchases are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store. Router Recovery does not receive or store your payment card information and does not independently process payment credentials.
7. Policy Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when app functionality or data handling changes, and will show the update date on this page. For questions about this Privacy Policy or a data request, contact us by email:
